PUIG 4298O - RESISTOR SET 3.9 OHMS/25W - LED INDICATORS.
It should be noted that most motorcycles use bimetallic relays, therefore their frequency depends directly on the amperage that circulates through the circuit.
When replacing them, this amperage varies, and therefore the flashing frequency as well. In case of using electronic relays, whose frequency does not depend on the amperage, it should not affect the flashing.
In case we have doubts about the relay that our motorcycle mounts, it is advisable to mount the blinker and check said frequency.
The indicator bulb must also be taken into account, in case the power of the bulb varies, we must replace it with one of the same power and they can be found in our catalogue. If our choice is to use an LED bulb, there are two options to balance the blink rate:
- One resistor must be incorporated in parallel in the circuit on the right side and another on the left side. In case of replacing the 4 turn signals, the Ref. 42980 resistor must be used, but if only two are replaced, the Ref. 58730 resistor must be used.
- Identify the motorcycle's flasher relay (location and number of pins) and replace it with the corresponding one from the list offered by Puig.
There are some motorcycles on the market that do not have a specific blinker relay, which makes it impossible to replace them.
It should also be borne in mind that if more than one relay is involved in the flashing action, replacing just one will not solve the problem.
We are here to advise you, ask us.
